About Shoot’n for P
Supporting Student-Athletes; Breaking the Stigma of Mental Health
Shoot’n For P is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to raise mental health awareness, break the stigma surrounding suicide and promote suicide prevention among adolescents and student athletes. The organization was founded in memory of Paxton Armbruster, who attended Mishicot High School and loved competing in basketball. The Shots Made Challenge is a youth fundraising program that encourages kids to put forth their best effort in sports, practice their shooting skills during off-season and raise money for speaker events and student athlete scholarships.
Why We Do This
Paxton’s Story
The Shots Made Challenge was created to highlight Paxton’s love for sports, his incredible effort, and his determination to be the best 3-point shooter. With strong community love and support after the loss of Paxton, we are committed to pass on that support and love to students who may be emotionally struggling.
About The Challenge
Everything You Need to Know
This year, the challenge will be split into two age groups.
Those going into 3rd-5th grade and those going into 6th -8th grade this fall.
Students from Mishicot and Two Rivers can participate this summer by recording their shots made and viewing results on our leaderboard. Participants must raise a minimum of $100 to be eligible for prizes. 3rd-5th graders who make 5,000 or more shots and 6th-8th graders who make 10,000 or more shots will be recognized at halftime of a High School Varsity game at their school.
To request a pledge from a friend or family member, print off the Pledge Form or send them to our donation/pledge page.
The challenge runs between Memorial Day and Labor Day, so sign up, get shooting, earn bragging rights and let’s all check in on each other and raise awareness for mental health. Each month participants on track to meet their shots made goals of 5,000 and 10,000 shots will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win prizes.

Paxton’s Story
Paxton Armbruster brought a smile to everyone he met. Paxton always wanted to please everyone and be the best at everything he participated in. He was perfect. Paxton attended Mishicot High School where he was an active member in every club and sport he could participate in. He was a member of FFA, Music Theater, Choir, Student Government, NJHS (Middle School), Police Cadets, Football, Basketball and Baseball. Prior to high school, Paxton was also involved in wrestling, cross country, track and golf. But Paxton LOVED baseball. Baseball was year round in Paxton’s eyes, as he also played for ISA, which became a second home and family for him. Everything that Paxton did, he did with passion at 110%. He didn’t want to let anyone down. He was determined to become the best 3 point shooter in Mishicot history. Volunteering was also something that Paxton was very passionate about. You could always see him volunteering at basketball tournaments, tutoring students, working on the M.E.C.C.A. Trail, helping make wreaths, working at Camp Invention, or just finding younger kids to play games with. People looked up to Paxton and he never looked for any recognition. He did these things because of his kind heart. His smile was infectious. When not playing a sport or volunteering, Paxton also loved hunting with his grandpa or family friends, camping with family, fishing with friends, teaching his brother new tricks or spending time with his girlfriend Rylie. The world drastically changed on February 15, 2022, when Paxton’s life came to an abrupt end. The community and school were changed forever, but his legacy lives on. Paxton gave 110% to EVERYTHING he did, whether that was classes, sports or being a big brother. He never accepted less than his best! So this non-profit was set up to ensure that other athletes are putting forth more effort to become better players and better teams.
It is our hope that Paxton’s memory will help others become better players by improving their shooting, but more importantly, bring awareness to mental health in our athletes, students and community. Our mission is to help our students become aware of their own mental health, as well as bringing the community together in support of mental health awareness. The community supported the family throughout the process and now we want to give back. By bringing in speakers, being out in the community with our Shoot’n For P game challenge or by continuing to speak Paxton’s name, we are hoping that mental health can be improved and understood.
